It finally happened. I turned 40 last week and spent a few days celebrating and relaxing in Palm Springs with my husband. We flew out very early (hello 6am flight) Thursday morning on my birthday which was nice because we got to the hotel at 10:30am just in time for breakfast before hitting the pool. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage. We stayed here for Kinsley’s baby moon a few years ago and I love this hotel and knew I wanted to come back at some point. I didn’t really know how I wanted to celebrate this milestone birthday initially. We threw around a lot of different ideas, but eventually it was just easiest to escape for a few days with Ross and going back to Palm Springs sounded perfect.
Here is a little photo diary of our trip.
A poolside aperol spritz was necessary. This hotel has an adult’s only pool which is key when traveling kid free 😉
It was nice have some quality time with my husband for a few days.
We were SO tired from our 3am wake up, but were determined to make it to my birthday dinner. This dress was perfect for the Palm Springs vibe.
We ate at Workshop which is my favorite restaurant in Palm Springs that Heather introduced me to a few years ago.
The women at the front desk was so sweet and excited about me turning 40. She had this cake and champagne sent up to us.
They have the cutest coffee bar set up in the lobby every morning. I loved drinking my first cup of coffee on the balcony getting in that morning sun. Nothing better.
There is a little hike around the hotel property that we did both mornings and then hit the gym for some weights. After our workout we would eat breakfast at the hotel before hitting up the pool.
I haven’t finished a book this quick in I don’t know how long. The book was great, but having 3 full days to just relax and read as much as I want was heaven.
The weather wasn’t ideal on Friday and super windy, so it was the perfect spa day. I got a hydrating facial and just relaxed and enjoyed the spa amenities.
Champagne and hotel robes. Nothing better.
I just wanted to order room service, but we rallied and went downstairs for dinner. Then back to my robe life and we binge watched The Gentlemen. Also how cute is this Ralph Lauren button up H got me for my birthday.
We had a really late flight home Saturday, so we were able to enjoy a full day at the pool and get late check out.
They still had these creepy bunnies up from Easter. They were giving me Donny Darko vibes. IYKYK.
Until next time Palm Springs.
xx, A
