Last summer I shared some products I was using as I transitioned back to my natural shade of “bronde,” aka blonde/brown, and while I still use a number of those products, I thought I’d share a more updated version along with how I currently style my hair now that I added a row of extensions for volume. If you have followed for awhile, you know that I love my T3 curling iron. It gives me perfect beach waves and holds a curl for a good 2-3 days in between washes.. and it’s just easy to use unlike some of the other very expensive “systems” on the market like the Dyson or Shark air wraps.. those things intimidate me and I think the curling iron does a perfectly wonderful job curling my hair without a 10 page instruction manual (never say never that I won’t try it one day but hoping a friend purchases it first so I can test it out ha). I try to only wash my hair 1-2x a week max and usually only style it once for the weekend. In between washes, I’ll use fun scrunchies or hair clips to preserve my style. I don’t love to bust out a dry shampoo because it leaves my hair feeling really dry but when in a pinch, this one is my favorite.
As for styling, I ensure to apply a heat protectant prior to drying my hair and then take small sections of hair and curl away from my face. Ideally, I let my hair air dry 99% and then blast it at the end with my blow dryer but I don’t always have time for that. Then we curl. I leave 1-2 inches of hair at the bottom OUT of the barrel and don’t curl that section to achieve the beachy wave. I don’t touch the curls until the very end of styling to make certain they’ve cooled down and then run my fingers and wet brush (it’s just called that.. it’s not actually wet) through my hair and finish with texturizing spray. The result is the perfect casual curl for an everyday look. You can find my tutorial on Instagram reels 🙂
