I have a slight obsession with sneakers.. Nike’s to be exact. The reason? There’s a few. First off, my brother works for the company so I do get a discount.. bonus. But I also just love their sneakers for all of my everyday activities – from the gym to the grocery store. I even wore Nike’s for my half marathon I loved them that much. Some people don’t think Nike’s are good enough for long distance running but I had no problem with them. I had the pleasure of visiting the Nike Employee store a couple weekends ago down in Portland and loaded up on all of my favorite sneaks. Here’s what I bought and why:
Nike Cortez: I have seen these sneakers on so many people but for some reason, I just didn’t think I’d wear them or could pull them off. WRONG and WRONG AGAIN. I love all color versions of this shoe because they are just a really sharp looking sneaker. I wear them with joggers or casual jeans for everyday wear. Not a gym shoe, though. Keep these looking fresh by wearing them for school drop off or a casual Sunday stroll. True to size.
Nike Air Max 270: I have these in the grey/black/white and really want the all white version. These are my everyday athleisure sneaker that take me on all of my errands. I wouldn’t necessarily work out in these shoes but once I forgot my running shoes and went for a short jog in these and they were perfectly fine! But these are mostly for looks IMO. True to size.
Nike Pegasus: OMG these came out in hot pink and I can’t believe I didn’t have these for my half marathon! These are my long distance running shoes (go up half a size) and I never had any issues with them.. felt like running on clouds. Lightweight but still stylish (unlike a LOT of running shoes cough cough Brooks).
Nike Free TR8: These shoes will take you from the gym (cross training) to the street. Lightweight, comfortable and cute color options. I have the black and white with hot pink details for a little flare. I wear these for classes like Orange Theory or just in the gym for the elliptical, squats and weights.
And if you want to know what I bought at the Nike Store to wear along with all the fab footwear, see below (linking it through Nordstrom because it’s the easiest):
