My friend Jenny and I meet up once a year for a girls trip (she lives in Chicago) and we’ve been discussing a Miraval destination for a few years. We figured this was the year we made this bucket list trip happen as a belated 40th birthday trip to ourselves 😉 I had really high hopes for this trip and it did not disappoint in the slightest. I was able to truly unplug and completely relax.
The resort is all-inclusive, and while you can leave the property, there is really no need to. Not having to decide what to do and where to eat everyday gave us more times to fully chill out. I wore about 10% of what I packed because I was either in my workout clothes, a swim suit, or my robe.
You’re really not supposed to have your phone out, but I snuck in some pictures so I could share my experience 😉

We checked in and hit up the coffee and smoothie bar right away. They offered 3 different smoothies which were all delicious and could add/modify most things you wanted. They also any type of coffee, matcha, or tea you wanted and the health shot burned so good 😉

I really appreciate being able to load up on all my beverages all day long. At 4 pm the coffee bar turned into a bar bar.

Once we checked in and got hydrated we headed to the pool to get in some sun and reading time before our afternoon workout classes. They have a variety of complementary workout classes offered daily.
There is also an entire booklet of other classes and activities you can book which cost extra. For example, you can sign up for an intuitive soul guidance class, crystal meditation, sound bath, astrology reading, aerial yoga, paddle boarding, etc.
Thursday evening we were signed up for 4pm pilates fusion and 5pm stretch and relax class before our spa appointments.

We both opted for 80 min deep tissue massages for our Thursday evening spa appointment. Usually spas like this are a let down when I get a massage, but this one was amazing!

After a dreamy deep tissue massages we headed to dinner. 8pm dinner reservations were not idea, but getting to wear your robe to dinner was 😉 You really aren’t trying to impress anyone here. Some people get cute and dressed up, others are casual, and some people are just living in their robes. You really can do whatever the heck you want and there is zero judgement.

Friday morning we slept in, grabbed our coffee, and went on a walk. We grabbed a quick breakfast and went to an abs and glutes class at 10am.
This is a picture of the group fitness studio, but there is also a huge gym with all the equipment you could ever want and need.

I loved how rural and rustic the resort felt. It was obviously very well maintained, but it didn’t feel overly manicured. I loved looking at all the different cactus, wild flowers, and other plants they had on the property. There is trail around the property we walked both mornings.

There is a grab and go area with yummy snacks you can grab whenever you wanted. I loved these bars.

Back to the pool to relax before our spa appointments. Loving this book so far.

The spa amenities were top notch. This is the quiet area you can hang in before your appointment. There is a sauna, steam room, hot tubs, and pool in the spa area. Friday night there was a little Texas lightening and thunder storm that added to the ambiance.
We both had 80 minute radiant renewal facials at 2:30pm. It was a lot of exfoliating and hydrating and very relaxing!

The dry sauna was stunning!

5pm dinner reservations of course. We threw on dresses for dinner our second night, but no make up because we were glowing after our facials and wanted all the product to soak in overnight. Once again, no one to impress!
The food was overall really good. We would just order a bunch of stuff because so we could try it all. I have a few recipes I want to try and recreate at home. This was a cauliflower steak that was SO good! There was plenty of meat and fish, but mostly a lot of vegetarian type dishes.
After dinner, we went back to the room and threw on our robes and watched a movie and were asleep by 9pm. Ideal!

The only picture we got together! Saturday morning we grabbed our coffees and headed out for a long walk before breakfast. After breakfast we did a kickboxing class that was so fun and then a cardio drumming class. I’ve never taken a workout class quite like this before and it was actually so so fun. You Tube cardio drumming if you’ve never heard of it. You’ll laugh so hard!

We soaked up as much pool time as we could before it was time to rinse off, get into our comfies, and head to the airport for a late flight home.
When I plan girls trips now, we usually aim for a Thursday-late Saturday, so we are home to get ours sh*t together for the upcoming week.
If you’re wanting a bucket list trip for a special occasion I highly recommend looking into one of the Miraval locations. I loved the vibe, everyone was very friendly, and it was so relaxing and rejuvenating.
xx, A
