My family is a Nike fam. We don’t stray. I’ll be honest, I have tried to wear APL’s and Adidas and while they look cute, they aren’t as practical for my everyday workouts and lifestyle. Nike is IT for me and I have a whole lot of experience trying out different shoes for my workouts, walks, and everyday errands that I thought I’d share my review of each sneaker and why I love them.
Lifestyle/Athleisure
Air Max 2090: This is hands down the most comfortable pair of Nike’s I own. I can easily wear these for a long walk around Green Lake or all day running errands where I am in and out of the car. These are like walking on a cloud. I love them so much that I have them in 2 colors and will likely get a third. 10/10 recommend!
Air Max 270: This is Nike’s most popular shoe for women due to the sleek design and color options. I have a couple of pairs and the new white and tan design is SO pretty and cool. Alix can take long walks in these but I typically only wear them for errands and short walks around the neighborhood. I wore them this past weekend traveling to and from Orange County and I had no issue with them walking through the airport. I have had pairs in the past that I had to “break in” but these I had no problems and they look so good with any outfit.. leggings or jean.
Air Force 1’s: It took me a few years to jump on this trend but now I am so glad I did. These kicks are FRESH, especially with a high tube sock. These are strictly meant to make you look good and they do just that. It’s a tomboy trend for sure but they are comfortable and look sleek as hell in my opinion. Feelin like Nelly stompin in my Air Force 1’s.. I know you just sang that lyric with me 😉
HIIT Workouts
Metcon 3: I ordered these after seeing Olivia from Peloton wearing them for all of her strength classes and truly love this shoe strictly for HIIT, strength training. I wouldn’t run in these but could easily walk shorter distances with ease. They are meant for the gym or doing drills and I have zero complaints when I do my bike or tread bootcamps and switch to these shoes for all my floor work.
Running Shoes
Pegasus: Hands down THE SHOE you want for long distance running. These are what I wore for the half marathon and I would wear them again and again. They are comfortable, supportive, and lightweight. I tried every running shoe under the sun and came back to these after the others would either make my feet go numb or give me blisters on my long training runs. Love these for long distance running above any other running shoe.
React Infinity Run Flyknit: These are the running shoes I reach for when I do a treadmill run or shorter runs around the neighborhood. They easily transition to the street after a workout or run and look sleek with a pair of leggings and hoodie. Many color options to fit your style but I opted for the black and white option cuz I am just a neutral kind of gal.
React Phantom Run Flyknit: I bought these running shoes for the design: no laces here. They just slip right on and you don’t need a sock (although I usually throw a pair on anyway). While I wouldn’t wear these for longer runs, I love them for my quick spurts. I got them in the white and gray but the black and white and black and green are super cool, too.
As for gear, I always have a pair of sweats, long sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts on standby after a workout. You can never go wrong in head to toe Nike and it’s what I sport most days carting these boys around.
