Long story short, I lost my Nordstrom credit card when I was shopping in-store yesterday and had to get a new one reissued to me. This means I don’t have online access to the full sale yet until I have that card in hand. So sad for me. However, I can still share some hot ticket items with you and all cardholders will be able to shop my picks starting tomorrow. I will update this post as I get access to hot ticket items and links. But to start, below are the items I purchased, have purchased in year’s past (because items are very similar year to year) or would purchase if my husband gave me an unlimited budget (HA!)
But first, a quick note about my thoughts on the sale. If you just want to shop, keep scrolling 😉
If you follow fashion bloggers on social media, you’re going to be hearing a lot about the Anniversary Sale over the next three weeks. And I have mixed feelings about it. This is a big commission time for popular fashion bloggers and sometimes I think (I know) that they hype the sale so hard and push items making you think they’re going to sell out. They buy EVERYTHING, wear it once in an Instagram post, tell you to RUN to buy it and then they return it or sell it on Poshmark. Lame. While I understand the sale is a money maker for them, I actually want to know what they’re buying and KEEPING because they love it.. not because they’re getting a kickback from Nordstrom. Ya know what I mean? Let’s get real, people.
So do items really sell out? Yes (usually women’s clothes and shoes) but what I’ve learned is that they sell out in the beginning and over the course of the three weeks, items get returned, Nordstrom WILL restock certain things and I have always been able to snag something I wanted. So my goal during the sale is to come off authentic and show you EXACTLY what I purchased and highlight pieces that our followers have specifically requested. Also, the sale is so similar to years past that I will show you current items on sale that I purchased before but didn’t have the need to purchase this year.
Ok lets do it! Here are my top picks (more about them written below):
A note: some of the items shown are not the actual COLOR I bought. See below for comments:
I linked a couple leather jackets but I love them all and have the Top Shop and Blank NYC versions from previous years!
This is my favorite Rails flannel this year:
The Thread & Supply: I got in cream with black accents
Greta Sandal in cream. These are identical to the Vince version but a fraction of the cost.
I bought these AG Cigarette skinny jeans and they are mid-rise, true to size. Super comfortable and flattering. I tried on these Rag and Bone and while I thought they were cute, I thought they were a bit too short on me (I am 5’7).
The Barefoot Dreams cardigan in grey. I wear it nonstop, all year round around the house. I am going to link THREE options: this one is perfect for lounging around the house, this one could be worn at home or out.. love the dark green one! I have the draped version from previous years but love the pocketed one best this year because it’s tailored and cozy!
This leather jacket is my ONE splurge this year. BUTTER.
These Adidas in the all white with rose gold detail.
My Barefoot Dreams blanket in leopard print that I have talked about endlessly on the blog!
Hands down my favorite purchase from the sale is this Camo coat.
The Madewell mules in tan.
Love the Gigietta bootie by Vince Camuto in tan or black for everyday!
The Sam Edelman Welles Bootie in black is a staple in my closet as is the Marc Fisher Unique Bootie. I also love the Steve Madden Jillian bootie in tan for everyday wear.
Bought the Sam Edelman Hiltin Boot after months of lusting after them.. glad I held out for the sale price!
I have this Zella sports bra in two colors and got the white and grey this year. I have a larger bust and can wear these running.
I feel like every blogger is posting about the BP Leopard Cardigan and I think it’s cute but didn’t purchase because I think everyone will have it.
This Treasure & Bond Panama hat is so cute and looks good on everyone. A much more reasonable price than Rag & Bone or Janessa Leone.
If I could splurge on one more item, it would be the Vince Mixed Cable Wool & Cashmere Blend sweater. In cream or green.. both amazing!
Sunglasses I am lusting:
Beauty Finds:
My T3 curling iron is on sale and worth the splurge. Heard the blow dryer isn’t all that great so didn’t purchase.
Here’s the Kiehl’s set I got!
Some love the Living Proof set but I am here for the Oribe texturizing spray set.. the smell alone is enough to sell me.
Happy shopping!! Check back often for updates and additional posts (like makeup finds, children’s and men’s picks!)
