Is there anything better then getting a package filled with new clothes in the mail?! I used to get Stitch Fix boxes for myself all the time and absolutely loved them. Some of my favorite clothing pieces came from those boxes and they are mostly items I wouldn’t typically pick out for myself. However, when I first heard about a similar type of service for kids I initially dismissed it thinking it was silly to “hire” someone to shop for Quinn.
I like shopping and especially picking out clothes for Quinn, but last week I received my first Mac & Mia box and it completely changed my mind!
Getting started on the website was really easy. The first step was to set up a profile for Quinn based on her style and clothing preferences. You’re also able to make notes for your stylist about what type of pieces you’re specifically looking for. For example, Quinn is recently potty trained so items like rompers and jumpers that she cannot easily get on and off herself are a no go right now. I also made a note that Quinn loves wearing dresses right now, so she made sure to include extra dresses in our box.
Let me breakdown the facts for you:
- The vast majority of their stylists are moms and they focus on creating relationships with their clients. My stylist told me she has so many clients that will text her about an event coming up or gaps in their kids’ closets that they need filled and she’s on it ASAP!
- Sizing is 0/3 months -10 years & consists of specialty boutique style clothing in a wide variety of styles.
- Average price per item is $35 for apparel and $12 for accessories.
- Free shipping both ways.
- Each box is 9-12 pieces & packed by your stylist specifically for your child. Keep what you love and return the rest. You only pay for the items you keep.
- There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your final total if you keep 2 or more pieces. There’s a 15% discount on total for keeping the full box.
- Now is a great time to try if you are looking for something for Easter, family photos, Spring break outfits (they have swimwear too) or just everyday pieces!
- They are NOT a subscription service. Box only comes when you request one!
How my mind was changed:
It’s hard to find cute and unique clothing where I typically shop for Quinn. Many times I see other kids wearing the same clothes as Quinn because we all shop at the same spots, so it was refreshing to see clothing items that were unique!
Also as a mom, our free time is very limited. Quinn is in school 8 hours a week and I usually have so many other things to do during that time and running around to all the kids clothing stores can be a total hassle. Taking her shopping is a complete nightmare these days, so having this service available will make my life 100% easier when we need outfits for special occasions…think Holiday cards, family pictures, vacations, picture day, etc. You can specify exactly what you’re needing from your stylist and they send you a lot of options plus accessories!
I will definiley be ordering another box for Quinn and was also thinking what a great gift it would be to give a mom friend. You can send a gift card or a baby gift…what a unique idea for a new mom! If you’re wanting to try out a box you can use my link here and get $20 credit.
Let me know if you have any questions!
