The Last Letter from Your Lover When I found out this book was being turned into a Netflix movie I had to read it. I’ve liked a few other Jojo Moyes books in the past (Me Before You– ugh so good!) so I figured this book would be good too. I LOVED it! In the book there are two love stories going on, one in the 1960’s and one present day and they are intertwined. I found myself so invested in the 1960’s love story and just really enjoyed this book. Highly recommend.
The Wife Upstairs I read this book in about 3 days while on my babymoon in Palm Springs. It was a quick, easy, mindless read making it perfect for vacation. I didn’t love the ending, but overall the book was entertaining. This would make a good bookclub book because it left me wanting to discuss further with a friend.
The Perfect Marriage I listened to this on Audible. I’ve seen it on a few other blogger’s book recommendations list, so figured I would give it a shot. While I found some parts of the book frustrating and obvious, I was overall surprised with the ending. I also found most of the main characters in the book unlikable which was also frustrating, but it didn’t seem to take away from my need to finish the book and know the ending.
The Wives I also listened to this book on Audible. I really liked the book, but almost felt like I was losing my mind trying to figure out what was real/going on in the book. The story has so many twists and turns up till the very end…it has you guessing and needing to keep reading (listening) to find out what happens next.
Girls with Bright Futures I just finished this book last night, and really enjoyed it. It does start off a little slow, but picks up about halfway through. The book is set in Seattle which is always fun because I know some of the places they are talking about. I loved the writing style of the author and it was a fun, yet suspenseful read. Highly recommend!
Listening to now: Beach Read I’ve heard this book is a great vacation read (a book named “beach read” better be, right?) I tend to choose to easier reads when listening because I’m sometimes distracted listening while walking Daisy and need something easy to follow. So far I’m enjoying the book! It’s already set up to be pretty predictable, but we will see!
What’s on my list to read next:
- One to Watch
- Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
- The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse
- The Last Flight
- The Wrong Family
