A couple times a year, Quinn and I will take a little road trip to Wenatchee, WA to visit my friend who has a son 3 years older than Quinn. She adores him and loves playing all the boy games with him. When it comes time for dinner my friend always makes a big green and fruit smoothie to go with her son’s dinner and poured some in a cup for Quinn. I didn’t know if she would be into it, but she devoured it and asked for more! I always knew she liked smoothies and I would occasionally make them for her for breakfast, but I never thought to do this for dinner.
I always think to myself I’m going to do this when we get home- then never really do. I go back to our steamed veggies and cut up fruit for dinner sides. However, with the temps heating up in Seattle last week the last thing I wanted to do was steam vegetables for Quinn, so I figured why not make her a smoothie to go with dinner. She loved this idea and wanted to help!
Let me clarify that the smoothie is not all I offer her for dinner (even though it has all the things). It takes the place of me offering cut up veggies and fruit for sides. I will still give her an “entree” for more protein, carbs, and fat.
