Spring Break Snaps // Disney World Edition

The boys and I spent the last week in Florida for spring break and had the best time exploring the parks and getting in some much needed sun and family time. We did a day at Universal Studios and a day at the Disney parks (we hit them all thanks to a VIP tour) and the rest of the time spent our days by the pool hitting the water parks and hanging out. Sharing some snaps from our jam packed week 🙂

We stayed at the coolest house with 8 Disney themed bedrooms. It was in an area called ChampionsGate and about a 20 minute drive from the parks. It was equipped with a pool, movie theater, and full game room that my boys spent hours in.
We did Universal first and decided on the Islands of Adventure park because it’s for the thrill seekers. We met up with our friends who also happened to be at Universal Studios and it was so fun for the boys to do this together. We also purchased Express Passes to cut the lines because these parks can get really crowded during high season. The rollercoasters are legitimately the most insane rides I have ever ridden on in my life and Velocicoaster should be illegal it’s so fun and scary. I love that all three of my boys love rollercoasters. I’d argue that they’re at an age where Universal is more fun for the rides and Disney for the experience but they loved it all.
Jackson is an adrenaline junkie like us and we hit all the rides at Islands of Adventure that we wanted to. He and I rode Hulk Coaster four times together 🙂
Parker wasn’t tall enough for a couple of the big rollercoasters but he is as fearless as the other two and wanted to sit in the front of every ride with his brothers with his hands up 😉
After a long day at Universal, we broke up the parks by spending our days by the pool. ChampionsGate had two large complexes with pools, splash pads, water slides and outdoor bars to order food and drinks. My boys spent hours on the slides and we got lucky with 85 degree weather and poolside drinks.
Then it was off to Disney for a full day park hopping. My ears are by Bauble Bar!
My mother-in-law spoiled us with a VIP Tour. We were shuttled privately from park to park with a guide who walked us through employee entrances and secret lines specifically for us to cut the lines and get on the rides over and over if we wanted. It was pretty rad! She said it was worth every single penny and I would have to agree with her. Expensive but truly once in a lifetime type of experience.
Immediately got ushered to meet the star of the show.. Mickey himself 🙂
I’d argue that this was the most special for my 2 year old nephew and Parker.. look at his face lol
We rode Space Mountain twice and got to experience both sides of the ride (because there are two tracks that differ slightly).
VIP Matt took us to Tron, which was the boys favorite ride of the day. Parker was a hair too short but Matt made it happen for him and I held my breath for 90 seconds on that ride worried about him the whole time but he survived to tell the tale thankfully!
Splash Mountain even if they want to call it something new (Tiana’s Bayou)
One of the coolest parts about VIP (minus the whole skipping the line thing) was that our guide would bring us food and drinks as soon as we got off a ride. He surprised the boys with ice cream and my request was a pretzel with cheese. He got us churros, ice cream, cold water, and even made a Starbucks run mid-day.
After we finished at a park, the guide would usher us to an awaiting air conditioned shuttle where he drove us to our next park for more rides. Honestly “spoiled” doesn’t even begin to cover it. We ended the day at Animal Kingdom on the safari and then Avatar.
We hit every theme park then ended it at Epcot where we had dinner as a family and walked around the beautiful boardwalk. I had never been to Disney World since I’m a California girl and it’s pretty spectacular.
The boys got to spend their souvenir money, I got an $80 Disney shirt because obviously, and we went home and passed out after walking 30k steps haha
Britt and I decided to do a sushi date night but I begged all three of my kids to come because they’re at an age where they are just fun to hang out with. Jackson is the only one who agreed to join us and it was just special 1:1 time that we rarely get these days. We went to the Omni Hotel near our AirBnB and it was exactly what the doctor ordered.
I can’t tell you the last time I had a full 2 hours to just sit and talk with him. I am so proud of the boy he’s turned into.. it was the best dinner date ever <3 and the icing on top to a really special week with my boys.
Nothing like coming home, though! Cleared out the DVR and watched episode 2 of the Last of Us.. RIP Joel #iykyk

Now back to the school and sports grind! What Spring Break showed me is that I am SOOOO ready for summer break. I can’t wait but in the meantime, back to our routine and insane sports schedule that will truly test my limits.
