I’ve been keeping a little secret from your guys…we moved last Friday! It’s been an exhausting past month emotionally (leaving Seattle) and physically (packing and unpacking is no joke) but I’m finally feeling more settled in our new home.
2021 was a busy year for us. We got Daisy in January, Kinsley was born in June, and I had knee surgery in December. Just when I thought we couldn’t cram anything else into 2021, we pulled the trigger on a house we fell in love with about an hour south of Seattle on the peninsula.
We’ve been talking about moving for a while now and were actually looking at houses near Heather since the summer time. The market is crazy right now and we decided to just take a break and revisit it in the Spring. My husband was still getting Redfin alerts and sent me this listing thinking I would say cool house and move on. I fell in love with the listing right away, we went to look at the house the following day, and were new homeowners before we knew it. It all happens so fast.
Having to make the decision to leave some of our closest friends, Quinn’s school, and a community we love and are comfortable with was really hard. We had a check list of “must-haves” for our next house and #1 on the list was more space. With the addition of a puppy and a baby we were quickly outgrowing our home in Seattle. While it was a really hard decision, we knew in our gut it was what was best for our family. This house checked every box for us and more.
Moving with two young kids and a puppy was no joke. I 0/10 recommend doing it without internet to entertain the 5 year old and someone to hold the 7 month old. Thank god we finally got wifi set up at 9pm Monday night!
Quinn had her first day at her new school Tuesday and was so nervous, but LOVED it. Phew…I’ve been so worried about moving her mid-year, but kids are resilient and she’s proving that. Daisy is already loving living in the woods and not having a fence to keep her contained…that’s one box the house didn’t check lol.
I’m glad we finally closed and moved so I could share the news with you guys. Now we just need to sell our Seattle house…and finish unpacking!
I’ll share more as we get settled. We have a lot of decorating to do…thank god Heather to the rescue!
xx, A
