If you follow along on Insta, you know that my husband and I traveled down to Cabo this past weekend for a little R&R before the insanity of the spring sports season commences (which it already has). We don’t travel often without our kids because they’re at an age where it’s so fun to bring them along (and I miss them terribly when we travel alone) but this was a welcomed change for a few responsibility-free days just the two of us. My husband surprised me with the trip and flew my parents up to watch the boys and booked everything without my knowledge so I had no clue where we were staying or what our plans were. We hadn’t been to Cabo in 13 years and so I was beyond excited to get back down there for some sun and Mexican food.

Relaxed and carefree for 4 days

My husband has status with Hyatt due to his insane work travel schedule so he took advantage of that by booking The Cape, a Thompson Hotel. This place was INSANE. From the second we rolled up, I was blown away. The architecture and grounds were to die for and the service – impeccable. Welcome drinks upon arrival, every room with an ocean view of the famous El Arco and Lovers Beach, and the sexiest coolest pool vibe. What we quickly learned is that we had no desire to leave our hotel the entire time and just enjoy the property and all it had to offer. So today is a total photo dump of our vacation with some additional recommendations should you find yourself at this property and want to venture out. But our vibe was relax, sip poolside drinks, eat early dinners and be in bed by 9 lol.

The grounds were just stunning. We found ourselves just saying, “WOW!!” all the time
The whole lobby is an open air concept with a huge sunken bar right in the middle where we had pre-dinner cocktails every night. It’s also where we had breakfast and got our coffees before the gym in the mornings
The rooms are huge and I immediately fell in love with the decor

We arrived close to sunset so quickly freshened up and headed to the rooftop for dinner and drinks
This place is swoon-worthy!! Even if you don’t eat here, go up and have cocktails and listen to the live band

Views from the ocean. We parked ourselves in the pool all day every day but they also have cabanas on the beach with food and drink service. Just so gorgeous.

My daily 3 pm spritz and then they just kept on coming. They have a whole row of chairs that sit in the water at the infinity pool and it was such a relaxing and chill vibe. They had a DJ on Friday and Saturday so the pool was LIVELY. Sunday was way more chill but I loved the energy. The worst thing is when you’re on vacation without your kids and you see families with their babies and you start to miss yours but this was NOT that thankfully! While the hotel is kid-friendly I would never recommend this spot for families. No one had kids here and the pool was a very adults-only vibe. Hard to explain but I’ve never stayed somewhere where it was not only relaxing and chill but full of energy and fun. The Cape is that.

Manta is one of the sexiest and chicest restaurants I’ve ever been to in Cabo. We went in and enjoyed a tasting menu and just told the chef to bring us whatever he wanted. The restaurant was recognized by Michelin in 2024 for a reason, hunnayyyyy
Morning breakfast views. On Sunday before we left, we indulged in their proper Sunday Brunch. We’re talking every station you can think of: donut wall, pastries, sushi station, carving station, omelets, eggs, bacon, THE WORKS. And a live band to top it all off. We left so satisfied before our flight home.
After our visit, we agreed that making this an annual tradition is a priority for us and are hopeful we’ll be back next year. Truly an unforgettable hotel and stay.
