The Starbucks PSL came out yesterday soooo that pretty much means summer is officially over…thanks Starbucks. While I actually think the PSL is gross, I’m a huge pumpkin fan…surprise surprise. Expect lots of fun pumpkin finds the next few months, but in the meantime here are some goodies I found and tried in August.
Trader Joe’s Salad Topper ok truth…I bought these like 2 weeks ago and have yet to try them! They seems like a great addition to a salad, eggs, or stir fry. I didn’t read the ingredients or the words past “salad topper” before tossing in my cart because I was in a rush, so I completely missed the fact that this contains crushed red pepper. My friend gave me the heads up that these have a pretty good kick! I’m not a huge spicy fan so I will keep you posted on how I tolerate these. Has anyone else tried?!
GT’S CocoKefir Probiotics Shots you know if it has anything to do with probiotics and gut health I’m all about it. So, when I found these probiotic shots at Sprouts (FYI if you live in Seattle area a Sprouts opened up in Mill Creek and 100% worth the drive!) These shots are a great option if you’re not consuming a probiotic rich yogurt/kefir or a supplement on the daily. I drank it straight up and didn’t mind the taste, but you can also add to a smoothie. GT’s is killing the probiotic game with their kombucha, cocoyo coconut yogurt, and now these probiotic shots!
Bubly One of our followers gave me the hot tip to try this brand’s flavored sparkling water. I picked up the cherry flavor from Target hoping it would taste like cherry coke? Eh…not so much. It wasn’t bad (better than La Croix IMO) but I didn’t like it as much as I like Spindrift and Waterloo (tied for first place).
CALM I’m loving this magnesium supplement to help manage my anxiety. I mix it in hot water and take it almost every night before bed. Be sure to read the instructions on how to make it…you add 1-2 tsp powder with 2-3 oz boiling water (this is key to activate it) it will bubble up like crazy then calm down. From there you can mix with cold water or add more hot water and drink as tea. I’ve tried both the watermelon and raspberry lemon flavors and the raspberry is my fav. I got mine at Whole Foods, but I’m sure you could get it at most health food stores and Amazon. I’m a big fan.
Four Stigmatic REISHI Mushrooms Elixir reishi is an adaptogen and is said to have many health benefits including improving immunity and mood and decreasing depression. I added this packet to hot water and drank like tea…I didn’t mind the taste, but I could see many people not being big fans. Next time I will probably try just adding it to my smoothie. I found this at a health food store in Mill Valley, CA called Good Earth, but you can find at Whole Foods with a variety of other adaptogen packets. Moon Juice is also said to have great adaptogen products that I might try next…just $$.
Four Stigmatic Mushroom Coffee this packet contains chaga and the adaptogen cordycepts. Chaga is used to stimulate the immune system, balance energy, and reduce inflammation and also known to help reduce fatigue and increase mental sharpness. Cordyceps are used to help the body handle stress, support immune and vascular systems, sustain energy and stamina. I will take all of that plus some caffeine 100%. It didn’t taste bad either!
Bare Carrot Chips I was looking for a new afternoon snack and saw these at Whole Foods and figured I’d give them a try. At first bite I wasn’t into it, but kept going and ended up finishing the bag in one sitting…oops! They are super crunchy and, like the beet chips I got from Trader Joe’s, taste super good with hummus.
Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen I take these Vital Proteins every morning in my coffee and they completely dissolve and are tasteless. I’ve been wanting to try their beauty water for a while now, but did not want to commit to an entire container because the reviews were so bad about this product. Regardless, I really wanted to try it and finally found these individual packets at Target. Well…as you can see by the picture above all of the reviews online are accurate and this stuff clumps like crazy and is super gross! I took one sip and tossed it…pass! I’ll just stick to my OG collagen in my coffee.
Simple Mills Crackers new flavor alert! These are my favorite crackers and I can basically eat an entire box in one sitting, so I was excited to see a new flavor hit the shelves this month. This flavor was really good and I’d definitely recommend picking these up next time you’re at Whole Foods.
That’s all I’ve got for you this month…thanks for following along. As always tell me what you think about any of these finds and let me know what products you’re loving right now. Happy Fall 😉

I have postpartum anxiety and I was wanting to try something natural before going on any medication. I just purchased the natural calm literally an hour ago. Do you find thay it helps you sleep better? That is my biggest issue right now which is so annoying when my 4 week old is sleeping at night and I’m not! Thanks so much for sharing.
