Turmeric supplement
I’m super active and as I get older I don’t recover as well as I used to 😉 So, I started taking a high dose turmeric supplement a few months ago to help with joint pain (mostly my knee hurting with pickleball) and I feel like it helps me a lot. There are many benefits to taking turmeric, and science to back up it up, and I feel like it’s been a nice addition to my supplement lineup.
Foldable Pill Organizer
Speaking of supplements, I am obsessed with my new pill organizer. Getting old is fun ;). The only way I stay on track with taking my supplements regularly is having them organized and ready to go. I’ve used one for years, but I wanted an organizer that had AM and PM compartments because I needed a PM slot for my progesterone and sleep complex I’ve been experimenting with. What sold me on this organizer is that it folds up, making it more compact for travel.
TRIP
Heather and I are addicted to these drinks. I look forward to it every night. Does it work or is it just placebo effect with my other sleepy supplements- unsure. It contains ingredients in my sleep stack, so if you’re looking for something that doesn’t require more pills then this drink might be your answer. Also if you struggle with being snacky in the evening, having this drink to look forward to and sip on in the evening helps curb that feeling. I’ve found them at Target, Whole Foods, and Amazon also carries them.
Psyllium Husk Jelly
My friend sent me this recipe and it blew my mind. If you’re trying to increase your fiber intake I love psyllium husk ( and ZEN Basil Seeds) and this jelly recipe makes it so easy to incorporate into your diet. Here’s the recipe:
- Combine 2T of psyllium husk powder and 1/3 of your favorite juice in a jar (I use tart cherry juice)
- Seal the jar and shake. Wait a few minutes for the mixture to thicken, then add it to greek yogurt, oatmeal, or even use it in a PB&J.
Prequel Lip Visor
It’s outdoor pickleball season and I won’t be skipping my lip SPF this summer. I carry this in my car and pickleball bag and reapply throughout the day, but esp. when I’m in the sun. I don’t think it has a strong SPF taste and goes on clear. I had a pre cancerous spot frozen off a few months ago and plan to be very diligent with my SPF game this summer.
I get asked often my thought on a vibration plate and that’s a huge waste of money IMO and often recommend a rebounder instead. I have been loving the low impact cardio option. I don’t really follow a routine, but there are plenty on You Tube. I throw on music and aim for 10-15 mins of jumping and since it’s been nicer I do it in my driveway and catch some morning sunlight. It’s good for low impact cardio, bone density, pelvic floor work, balance, coordination, and more. I found my rebounder on Facebook Marketplace which is a good place to look first if you’re wanting a lower cost option.
Nothing motivates my workouts more than a cute new matching set and I love these Beyond Yoga sets for pilates class. They fit perfect (run TTS), very comfortable and flattering. Heather inspired me to get the grey and now I also want a brighter color for summer. I comes in so many fun seasonal colors.
xx, A
